Arizona is a state of the United States of America. Arizona is the sixth most extensive and the 16th most populous of the 50 states. Its capital and largest city is Phoenix. In addition to the Grand Canyon National Park, several national forests, national parks, and national monuments are located in Arizona. Arizona is noted for its desert climate in its southern half, where there are very hot summer and quite mild winters. Arizona features forests of pine, Douglas fir, and spruce trees. There are also mountains and deep canyons. There are ski resorts in the areas of flagstaff and alpine. So if you are going to spend your coming vacation in Arizona then you are really going to enjoy it. Here is a list of some of the places of Arizona.

It is located in northern Arizona in the vicinity of flagstaff. It was established in 1898. Coconino National Forest contains diverse landscapes, including deserts, ponderosa pine forests, flatlands, mesas, alpine tundra, and ancient volcanic peaks.

Horseshoe Bend is located five miles downstream from the Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell within the Glen Canyon National recreation area. Horseshoe bend is the name for a horseshoe shaped meander of the Colorado River located near the town of Page, Arizona.

Phoenix Zoo is the largest non-profit zoo in the United States. The Phoenix Zoo opened in 1962. This Zoo contains 2.5 miles of walking trails. The Zoo has over 1,300 animals on display.

Saguaro National Park is located in southern Arizona. Here you can see snowy peaks, towering cacti and superb sunsets. It is not just a desert. There are oak woodlands, pine forests and scrublands. This park contains USA’s tallest cacti, black bears, wild tortoises and poisonous Gila monster lizard.

Meteor crater is a meteorite impact crater. It is about 1,200m in diameter, 170m deep, and is surrounded by a rim that rises 45m above the surrounding plains. One of the interesting features of the crater is its squared-off outline, believed to be caused by pre-existing regional jointing in the strata at the impact site.
